Low energy laser light harmlessly penetrates the outer skin and is then selectively absorbed by the targeted blood vessel(s). The heat generated by the laser light coagulates the blood in the vessel, causing it to disappear through reabsorption into the surrounding cells. There is no injury to the adjacent skin tissue.
